About Skeet
International Skeet has been included in the Olympic games since 1968. National and International Championships are held annually. Shooting is in series of 25 targets per shooter, with an ordinary sporting gun, maximum calibre 12.
Maximum shot size and weight are 2 mm and 24 grams. The sporting gun must hold a maximum of two cartridges.
The target is thrown at call. Until the target is visible, the shooter must have the riffle butt at his hip.
Shooting is from an arc with eight different stands.
The target flies about 65-67 metres and it must be hit within 40.2 metres. A distance which is clearly indicated.
The targets are thrown from a high and a low tower.
The position of the targets must be 4.6 metres above the centre of the shooting field, and this is also the point where the targets must cross each other when shooting to the double.
