About Trap
International Trap is the oldest type of trapshooting under the Olympic games. Shooting is in series of 25 targets per shooter with an ordinary sporting gun, maximum calibre 12.
Maximum shot size and weight are 2.5 mm and 24 grams. The sporting gun must hold a maximum of two cartridges.
Shooting is from five stands, 15 metres behind the trap machines.
Each of the five stands must have three trap machines, throwing the targets to a height of 1.5 to 3.5 metres. Measuring 10 metres from the trap machine. Maximum flight 75 to 80 metres. In this type of shooting the shotgun may rest on the shoulder of the shooter.
